Brad- I have a strong business but I feel that there’s a certain amount of tension in the workplace. How can I avoid any major confrontations that might happen in my company and how can I build a better company culture?

If there is tension in your business, where is it coming from?
If you don’t know already, the tension starts with you.
The owner of any business is the one that sets the tone for the rest of the team and if you are exhibiting signs of tension and pressure or if you are unaccountable and don’t do what you say, your team will pick up on those signs and emulate them.
So first ask, are you leading your team in a manner that facilitates an unhealthy work environment?
Remember, it’s your business and the leadership should come from you, but if it isn’t, it’s coming from somewhere and you are still responsible for it.
That is why it is so important for any business owner to be a leader and represent the type of person they want working for them.
That may mean working with or even getting rid of team members that exhibit negativity or cause a lot of the tension in the workplace, but those are solutions after the fact, once the culture has already become negative.
To nip possible tensions in the bud before your culture goes bad, you have to be proactive.
One of the most efficient ways to do this is by defining the culture you want from your business in writing.
